Good memory for your desktop.Strengths: Good performace and affordable price. Weakness: none I bought it on Black Friday for only $10 after mail-in rebate. However, the performance and compatibility is pretty good. I used it for about one week without any problem. It works great with two other 1G 667 memory that comes with my Dell desktop. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

cheap nice brand new ramStrengths: cheap, work nice Weakness: none I have used the crucial memory several times. i bought this one from buy.com, it is cheap and works very good. After use for several days, I'm really satisfied with its stability. I'm also satisfied with the price. This memory is cheaper than I expect. Up to now, I feel really good.... Would buy them again... 100% of readers found this review helpful. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

good cheap memory from a reputable brandStrengths: cheap, plays nice with another brand Weakness: none i paired this ram with a 1gb stick from hp (both pc2-5300) in a dual-channel installation and no problems with the computer recognizing both. it took less than 5 minutes to shutdown and unplug my computer; open up, install in, and close my tower; and reboot my computer. just make sure to press firmly when inserting the ram modules into the slots in the motherboard. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Crucial 1GB DDR2 SDRAM Memory ModuleStrengths: Works perfect, no problems, crucial is great memory! Weakness: Price dropped 20 bucks since i purchased it. Oh well Buy in a bundle and have it tested. I bough my ram, processor and board all together, tested together. They give u a slip with exactly what they did and the results of the test. This way you know the BIOS version is updated compatible with your processor. Not a single problem with this ram and i am fairly new to building computers. 100% of readers found this review helpful. Crucial 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 MemoryStrengths: Inexpensive; Works well. Weakness: None. Crucial is one of the brands you trust on system memory product. And this 1GB PC2-5300 one is an example. I purchased from Frys on BF for $5 AR. It just works well on my ASUS M2NPV-VM board with 1GB "patriot" brand + 1GB "HP" brand PC5300 memory. Three memories works flawlessly together and my homemade PC runs vista and games smoothly. Get more memory, and think about this one. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great RAM at an excellent price.Strengths: Great price. Reputable company. It works! Weakness: None. I bought this RAM to upgrade a new computer I bought. The main reason I bought the RAM was because of the sale price through TigerDirect.com. At the time, there was a promotion where it was about $10 after rebate, which I couldn't pass up. It arrived in a very short time and I installed it into my new PC, replacing a 512MB stick, and the computer recognized the new 1GB RAM right away without any problems. What more can you ask for? Crutical DDR2 1GBStrengths: Works great, name brand, nice price Weakness: Nothing yet Purchased this 1GB stick from from Frys and works without any issues .. probably should have got 2 pieces. Does not have any of those heat-spreaders but if you need then you can purchase them separately. The rebate with the memory lead to Lexar which had me confused but then I read that Lexar has merged with Micron which is the parent company of Crucial Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 DIMM MemoryStrengths: Great price. Good performance. Weakness: None so far. I really like this value RAM. It works well in my Acer Aspire desktop. Now it has 2GB of RAM and Vista runs smoothly. Since is a pre-built computer, I didn't have a chance to test the overclock or timings. Really good deal for the price. Would recommend this product. Can't complain. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Good Inexpensive MemoryStrengths: Inexpensive; It works Weakness: none Good and cheap memory for your desktop upgrade. This was an upgrade for a Dell computer. It was installed without problems and as far as I can tell is working well: no crashes, no memory error messages, no blue screens. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Crucial 1GB PC2-5300 667MHz 240-pin DDR2 MemoryStrengths: Quality memory at a great price. Lifetime warranty. Weakness: None Got a pair of them at a great price. Running perfectly at 333MHz (5-5-5-15 timing) with BIOSTAR NF520-A2 AM2 motherboard. With 2GB dual channel memory, Windows XP now runs much more smoother. Highly recommended! no frills ram at a cheap priceStrengths: really low priced after rebate and works well Weakness: not very low cas but it's ok i bought this on blackfriday for $5 after rebate. I received it today and used it on an ECS motherboard. It booted up fine without any problems. This is pretty much a barebones ram without all the bells and whistles. Don't expect this to overclock. But it works extremely well at stock speeds, and since I have an ECS motherboard, it wouldn't make a difference anyway. So I guess the rule of thumb, is that if you have any sort of OEM computer equipment, this will do fine. But if you have the crazy motherboards, this might not do the trick and will be limiting your OC. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great Value with High PerformanceStrengths: Good price, worked in Dell computer, passed Vista memory test Weakness: Micron chip, not the Samsung I got it in very low price, and wanted to run dual in dell dimension E520 system. Original memory has samsung chips on it. This one has Micron chips. Both of them are running in pair without any problem. They passed the vista memory test, and the system runs smoothly without any error or crashes. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

rebaged Samsung memoryStrengths: works fine at default speed and timings (DDR2 667) Weakness: not manufactured by Crucial itself, and mediocre OC ability I purchased this memory in hoping that it still uses Crucial/Micron memory module, only turns out the one I received is actually a rebadged Samsung memory. It's a retailed version, and you can clearly see that label, memory PCB and memory module are all made by Samsung. The only thing remind you this is a crucial product is the plastic package and another crucial label. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Just what the doctor ordered!Strengths: Great Value, Good speed, Great Compatability, 1.8V, Micron Chips! Weakness: Not 800mhz, thats about it. This fit my HP DC5100 perfectly. Unfortunately the OEM bios only sees this as PC-4200 its still increased my Ram size to 2 GB for really cheap. It also worked great since I am not able to increase my voltage this ran great at 1.8v and it had Micron chips to boot. Of course they come up as generic in CPUID but the chips have the circle M on them which we all know means Micron. Great bang for buck! Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

could not run in dual channel modeStrengths: support, brand and overclocking Weakness: none Worked great in my home made computer. I now have 4GB of Crucial RAM running fine but I could not run them in dual channel mode. I am not sure if this is RAM issue or my motherboard issue. I would suggest to buy for general computer usage. Note: Does not come with heat spreaders. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Crucial 1GB PC2-5300 DDR2 DIMM MemoryStrengths: Name brand, Stablility, Good price Weakness: None In the memory, I can see Samsung log which is one of the top manufacturers. This makes me feel so good. Although I have used bunch of different providers without any problems, samsung typically have given me high satisfaction. Everything works fine and no problem so far. Also, I bought it very cheap. I'm satisfied with everything of this memory. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Great memory works wellStrengths: Cheap Weakness: None I don't overclock so just looking for a cheap 1GB memory upgrade to go with my Athlon X2 4400 system. Found this online for $20 from newegg. Plugged it into my system and it worked flawlessly. No issues so far, windows vista boots up quicker and my apps load. No complaints, and for the price it was well worth it. The Crucial product line to buy
Strengths: Great price, Crucial quality
Weakness: May not be suitable for older motherboards as of late 2007
This Crucial 1-Gbyte PC2-5300 module is widely available and often promoted with a small rebate ($5 - $10). This is nice considering that many other retail module suppliers are currently (early 2008) offering their DDR2 products with huge rebates ($30+) in the hopes that you'll pay the over-inflated pre-rebate price and then forget to mail in the rebate! Kudos to Crucial for a little integrity and customer friendliness just for their retailing practices.
These are JEDEC standard 5-5-5-15 DDR2-667 modules, and Crucial (unlike with their Ballistix line) doesn't play any funny games with running them at an out-of-spec voltage or at a non-standard CAS latency in some kind of attempt to make you think you're getting a higher performance product. Plug these in and they will work with any compatible motherboard. Period. No BIOS tuning, no extra cooling, no fooling around. Memory should always work this way.
Altogether then, these are fully JEDEC specification compliant modules, sold at a fair price without any funny business. One gotcha, however, is that as of late 4Q2007, Crucial changed the design of these modules. They are now single-sided and use 1-Gbit density components instead of the more commonly found double-sided modules with 512-Mbit density components.
This matters a great deal, because 512-Mbit DDR2 components have two bank address lines (BA[1:0]) while 1-Gbit and larger DDR2 components have three bank address lines (BA[2:0]). If your motherboard is not of sufficiently recent design, its SDRAM controller may not support the extra bank address and will see those as 512-Mbyte and not 1-Gbyte modules. There is no way to make all of the memory visible without upgrading to a new motherboard. Crucial makes no mention of this in the installation booklet nor on their web site, so buyer beware.
