ASUS

Strengths: Performance, overclocking, stability

Weakness: Expensive

Very nice board. Stable under 20% overclocking of Pentium D 930, lots of features. I do not use on-board sound, but it was OK, when I tried it (not PCI X-Fi quality, but good). Only problem I have - setting up turning computer by hitting space on keyboard - doesn't work. May be a BIOS issue.

The greatest MB yet! Despite the Minor Marvell Raid...

Strengths: Great for Overclocking, supports up to 8GB memory. Will be easy to upgrade as needed for this mother board has a long way to go before all it's uses are maxed out.

Weakness: Just the Marvell raid problem, Which is fixed now. The sound could be better, but if you use digital instead of anolog, it sounds great. Steep price.

All I have to say is AMAZING!! the power you have with board. No problems in installing board what so ever. plenty of space for ATI x1900xtx and Thermaltake Blue Orb Heatsink and Fan. Just had to use 680wts to power this baby. Keep in mind you will need a decent size Case Like Thermaltake Armor CLass to keep from busting up the knuckles. It will be quite a while before I have to change this board.

How do you fix the Marvell Raid problems?
I can't even boot off of my Marvell EIDE controller; do you know anything about that?

expensive but excelent

Strengths: 2 ultra fast network cards the best on board souncard i have ever heard

Weakness: I have not found any

I own this PC with this motherboard now for almost 5 months.
I have put in a 3.4 dual core CPU allong with 2048 mb DDR2 ram *(geil).
So far this is by my standards the best motherboard I have ever had.
I have not found any weaknesses at all yet.
Here in the Netherlands this is a very expensive board compared to simular boards from other brands.
But at the end I have to agree with the man who sold it that the extra money you pay for it. Is allready long forgotten as you enjoy this board every day.
It is just excelent I do not think there are many other boards better.
Excuses for any mistakes in my English but English is for me a foreign language.

P5WD2-E Premium

The Asus P5WD2-E Premium is targeted squarely at performance hungry enthusiasts, but the other board we'll be looking at here, the P5WDG2-WS, was built with professional workstation users in mind. Let's kick things off with a detailed look at the P5WDG2-WS. And later on, we'll shift the focus to the more mainstream P5WD2-E Premium. <p>
