Speedy Card, Little Noisy

Strengths: Very fast card. Plays all the games I have at max settings at 1680x1050. HDCP capable. Serious Sam II game is a nice touch.

Weakness: Heatsink fan is a bit noisy, but all 7900gt cards have the same problem as well.

It's been a really long time since I've had a high-end graphics card and this card is definitely up there in terms of performance. The card is default clocked higher than the standard 7900GT specs as well. A few of the selling points that made me choose the MSI card over competitors were that it's one of the only HDCP compliant video cards out there. In terms of future proofing, at some point everyone will need to get and HDCP monitor as well as an HDCP graphics card to view HD-DVD and Blue Ray discs. Since I probably won't be upgrading my graphics for a while, this was a big selling point.

MSI also includes Serious Sam II as part of their software package to demonstrate the HDR effects and how well the card performs on the whole. I generally play older games, but with this card allows me to be prepared for newer games for at least the next few years until DirectX 10 becomes a mature API.

The negative part of the entire product was that the heatsink fan was rather noisy. I built my computer with silence in mind and this ends up as the only part of the system I can hear from my chair. I would probably invest in an aftermarket cooler, but it's not so noisy that it's unbearable.

MSI GeForce 7900 GT Video Card

Strengths: It has HDCP, excellent speed, excellent pricing for my newest system-and it works great in Windows Vista Home Premium!

Weakness: Needs hefty power supply, make sure you have at least a 400Watt to handle this baby in your system

I reveiwed many of the variants to the GeForce 7900, and this one from MSI seemed to get the best reviews, and it comes overclocked out of the box. Installed, it handled games flawlessly, no flicker like I saw others whom reviewed it experienced, perhaps the latest drivers which I used solved all of the old problems.

I would buy this again!

Great Card

Strengths: 24 Pipelines, VIVO, OC'd

Weakness: Need at least a 400w Power supply, may not have this with store purchased PC's

This to me is a wonderful card. Zipzoomfly got her out quick! I love the HDCP option to be able to play any content that may have this protection. Speed baby, I have yet had a graphics card this quick! Last but not least, I also got it running in OSX 10.4.8 - so if you have a Mac, with minor kernel mods you will have a card that blows all others away..

MSI, Wow great card

Strengths: Heavy copper heat-sink larger than my Gigabyte 7900GT. Very fast.

Weakness: None

The fan is quiet, the card is fast and the heat-sink and firmware flash utilities MSI put on this card are WOW. Gigabyte was my favorite brand for video cards, though this might now be changing.
