NB5L replacement rechargeable battery

I am very pleased witht the NB5L replacement rechargeable battery I purchased for my Canon Powershot SD800 IS camara. It performs as well as the orignial battery and at $12.49 was a much better bargain than the name brand battery selling for 40 to 60 dollars each.

Genuine NB-5L Battery Pack

Strengths: Safe (for the camera) since genuine

Weakness: Expensive

This battery pack does the job it's supposed to. Before writing this review, I emptied it and recharged it. It went empty quite quickly, that's maybe because it's not fully charged when it gets out of the factory or because it's freaking cold these days and the battery doesn't like it that much.
Anyway I'm happy with it and I highly recommend to buy genuine batteries. That would be a shame to ruin your new camera just because you saved 20$, don't you think?

Canon NB-5L Lithium Ion Digital Camera Battery

Strengths: None

Weakness: The product over heated and melted from the first charge.

I am completely dissapointed and felt slightly deceived. I should have assumed that for such a low price, that this was not an actual Cannon battery, but a knock off. I found that out after I received it.

For the amount I paid, I decided not to complain, because if it worked, it would not be a problem. When I finally charged it, that is when I had the problem. It seems the battery over heated from being charged the very first time and the actual battery bubbled out wards and I was not able to use it.

Since I had gotten rid of all of my paperwork and because of the price, I just ended up throwing it out and not making a complaint. I just treated it as a live and learn.

Canon Rechargeable Battery - NB5L Replacement...

Strengths: Genuine Canon battery, charges easily

Weakness: Probably a little bit more expensive than generic ones (but that's expected)

I bought this battery as a spare to my old one. I do not want to experience running out of battery again while taking pictures during vacation and having to go back to your hotel to charge the battery. I bought a genuine battery because I do not really trust the generic ones. I do not want to gamble with the quality of a generic battery by saving a few dollars. I just got this battery over the mail a few days ago. So far the initial charging did not cause any problems. I used it on my camera yesterday for a few hours and it performed well as it is supposed to.

Strengths: I dont know yet.

Weakness: I dont know yet.

I just got this battery, and have not yet started to use it. It is made in china, I am not sure how good it is. I hope it can last longer than the original cannon battery. It usually does.

NB5L Rechargeable Battery

Strengths: 800mAh is good but it's not good enough for 1200mAh.

Weakness: None

The price is best for it. It's only $15. It's cheap. But it's not Cannon brand. It's also good for spare battery. There's only 800mAh. It should be much power than 800mAh.

Battery Review

Strengths: it matches what i ordered. It delivers the performance as advertised.

Weakness: none

Will reorder it again if i have to. Reliable product. I am asked to write the reviewed before the 100cyles of charging and discharging. I will summarize it later if i am given the chance to do so.

Canon battery

Strengths: Quality construction and reliability

Weakness: None

This battery also is that same one that is used in the Canon SD630,SD700IS, SD800IS. I looked at several other brands of batteries but the quality of those seemed questionable to me and the Canon battery actually cost me $2.00 less than the after market one would have. As an alternative I would recommend the Energizer batteries if Canon is not available.

Excellent product for people traveling

Strengths: Excellent capacity, ease of use.

Weakness: None

This product is a must for the typical person that takes leisure trips. This is so convenient to have a replacement when you are taking alot of pictures in one day. Easy to replace and cost effective.

Strengths: Genuine

Weakness: Expensive

The good thing is that this is a canon genuine battery pack while the bad thing is that this is more expensive than a generic battery.
I have not used a generic battery pack by a 3rd party.
The reviewers who bought a grey market battery should not blame it because it's cheap and you didn't check whether it is canon brand or not.
Ususally, cheap battery is not a genuine battery.
