Awesome game system

Strengths: Easy set up

Weakness: Should come with multiple controllers

The Wii is very entertaining and easy to use. The idea that you have to get out of the chair and actually do something to play is awesome. The boxing will give you a good workout in a short amount of time. They really should include two controllers to make playing with a friend easier.

Unique console, but not without limitations and...

Strengths: Good size and design, Unique controls w/ Bluetooth, Slot Loading, SD Slot+Wireless included, Slot Loading Drive, Easy to Pickup and Play, Includes Game, Backwards compatibility with legacy HW Support

Weakness: No High Definition support, Last-Gen Graphics Hardware, Expensive Accessories and End Cost, Horrible Z-Axis Detection, Lacking USB Support, No HD Proprietary Vid Connector, Lacking Online Multiplayer.

The Nintendo Wii is a great console that moves gameplay in a whole nother direction. The controls allow for a new "standard" style of gameplay which allows for the simplification of control. Granted this is not the first gyro and sensor controller out in the market, but it is the first that's become standard on a console. The X and Y Axis control and Gyro function well. However the Z-Axis control detection (Forwards/Backwards and depth) all seem to have some serious issues. On average in games, about 70% of the control is solid. Either way the controls are easy to pickup and great for casual and new gamers to play around with.

The console is very well catered to minigames and has some solid first party support (Super Smash Bros, Mario, Zelda, etc.) However the 3rd party support has been only ok. Though it has produced some great games like Rayman Rabbids. However with a huge focus on the party setting, the Wii comes with a huge end cost. Each controller (Wiimote+Nunchuck) costs a whopping $60 each. That cost adds up quite quickly when you add in buying AA batteries for each one and component cables (since the port is proprietary). I wouldn't picture myself playing the Wii too often alone, but It really has been a blast with people over.

Wii sports does well enough as an included free game. however beyond the first play around, I've hardly ever returned to it to play. And I've definitely never felt like playing it alone. However it's a great showcase to show people what the Wii is all about. However, like many games on the Wii, There is no multiplayer support. And the first online multiplayer game for the Wii will be a pokemon game in March. That's awfuly sad considering the sucess online multiplayer has shown with the 360 and even with Resistance for the PS3.

The backwards support is a great feature for the few Gamecube games that were worth owning (like smash bros). The backwards compatible controller ports and memory card hardware are all there. Basically if you have a Wii, you can chuck that old gamecube away.

As far as hardware power goes, it's no Secret that the wii is lacking. However there is not even normal HD support which is quite upsetting. However there is at least 480p support (Progressive Scan) when you buy the component cables. However I don't like the idea of paying $250 for what is essentially a slightly faster gamecube with a new controller. There is a reason why Nintendo is making $40 off each piece of hardware sold. You would figure they'd give us a break on the accessories, but that's not the case. However the new controls are intriguing enough to be worth the initial price tag.

In the end my biggest concern is the longevity of the console. Over time there is a possibility for new unique and innovative games to come out for the Wii. however there is also a possibility for the Wii's control to end up as a overused gimmick. Either way the gamble has sure paid off for Nintendo and people are enjoying the console currently as seen by the demand. The Wii marks the revitalization of the mainstream console market for Nintendo.

Fun Fun Fun

Strengths: Games are fun to play, controller is indeed cool and not very hard to use

Weakness: Some games the controls can get complicated, no "HD" but you can pay $30 and get 480p through component

Games are really fun to play. It keeps you active, though you could be lazy and just flick your wrist. But all the sports games you can use the controller like a baseball bat, tennis racket.. Anything

As Good as It gets at a Great Price!

Strengths: Works with your Game Cube Controlers and Memory. Uses a SD camera Ready Memory card, which are easy to get!

Weakness: None that I have found in 3 days of ownership

I am very please, as well as Pleasantly surprised at the ease of installation, as well as the easy use of the control, there have been no "learning" curves with me, and I am normally all butterfingers. I have found that the ease of use is great. To me it is MUCH easier to get use to then when I had to get use to the added Joy Stick on the older models of their time. I feel the price is well worth it!

Why is everyone so happy to Pay 2X the going rate.

Walmart and best buy are advertising the Wii at $249.24, US.

Have you all cracked up paying $500?
In two weeks, every shelf of evry store will have them for $229.00.

I told my husband that I would like the Wii for Xmas since. I had know luck in getting an old original Nintendo game. Everybody was telling me to get the new Wii you can play all of the old Nintendo games with this unit, my question is, is this true can I down load old games like paperboy, toki old mario brothers, donkey kong and much more. You see that I'm an old school gamer.

Shadchan: Mainstream outlets like Wal-mart and Target (also gaming stores such as EB Games, and Gamestop) offer prices at the retail price of ~$250.

With your purchase you get the Wii Console, a Wii remote (aptly nicknamed the Wiimote), and a nunchuck attachment to your Wiimote (for games that require the use of an anolog stick and/or two hands). Also, a free game comes with your purchase, called Wii Sports. This includes sports like boxing, tennis, golf, and bowling. Don't worry about boxing being not PG for your child, as he boxes with his avatar (another aptly named Nintendo invention called a Mii) and another avatar, both very cartoonish looking. So basically, all you need is a console and you can start playing.

Jailo01: Yes, you can play most old school games on the Wii. This happens via the Virtual console, which is basically like a web site where you can download the old school games. However, downloading is not free. Expect paying between 5-10 dollars for each game, depending on which console it was from (NES, SNES, N64).
Variety isn't too hard to find either. Nintendo has announced that it expects 30 games on the "Virtual Console" by the end of 2006 and a further 10 games per month for all of 2007. You buy them with Wii points, which are basically translated cash.

Although I must admit my husband has given me ALL of the information on the Wii so forgive me if I may be forgetting some things. Downloadable games are for all of Nintendos back list as well as the full Sega catalogue. The prices per game are somewhere from $5 to $10. Although the full catalogue was not on line the last time I checked Nintendo is adding more by the day. Finding a Wii this time of year is hard because it's new and selling better than expected, but ask your local retailer and they'll tell you when the next shipment comes in. For launch date at our location in Michigan anyone arriving before 3am got the system. Which tells you how nuts we were to camp out for it. I will say that the experience of camping out for the Wii was MUCH nicer than the horror stories of PS3 camp outs, someone even loaned us a sleeping bag! We took the system to Thanksgiving and EVERYONE loves it. I hate video games and I love it, my 7 year old nephew loved it, my 65 year old Mother loves it. I can't say enough about how easy and fun it is to play. And the wii mote makes it funny to watch as others play. Even if you need to wait until after the holiday to pick one up... it's sooo worth the wait.

The answer its probably gonna be yes, but just wondering:

Do you need internet connection to have the wi-fi uses, such as the weather casts , virtual consoles downloads, and etc.?

Fun. Fun. Fun. Fun.

Strengths: The Wii is fun and interactive rather than sitting on your but pressing buttons. It is awesome when you have more controllers and players. In addition, most of the games for it are extremely fun.

Weakness: It is not as much fun with out another player. Setting up the Wi-Fi takes a little bit of time.

Every one who is active and into some video games should get this console; you won't regret it! Don't get a bad first impression of the Wii from the game included (wii sports). All you need to do is get a game (like Zelda or ravin rabbids), another controller, and a friend. After this, you are ready for action! Because the Wii is in such a high customer demand, Get one if you happen to see it. you will not regret it.

Nintendo Wii is for me

Strengths: Gameplay Gameplay Gameplay

Weakness: if your out of shape you will get sore particularly Boxing

I called around and got my hands on one not easy to find they sell like hotcakes. This thing has news, weather updates such as five day forcast for your area, internet browser you can download old classic games two player action is very fun everyone who tried it said they would buy one and everyone tries it thats the funny part older people see how easy it is to use and pick up a controller and start playing! some third party games don't take well to new controllers

Wii Console

Strengths: Lots of fun Interactive Invites physical exercise

Weakness: Not quite as responsive to player movements as hoped - especially in boxing - however I've never been a gamer before so how would I know...

A great reason to get together with friends and share some laughs - what could be more important than that?
It inspires physical activity unlike other game systems so I think that is great!
It's simply a lot of fun - even for a soon to be 50 year old woman - and my college kid is jealous! I love that part :)

Wiiiiiiii

Strengths: works great

Weakness: limits of current technology

This has to be the best gaming console that I have ever seen. I almost can't wait to see what the next generation product is going to look like. If this is anything to go by, cutting edge won't describe it accurately enough.

You won't regret it

Strengths: Fun, very fun. Widescreen aspect ratio. 480p with component cables. backwards compatibility with Gamecube

Weakness: Graphics - I don't think any games out yet tap its full potential, but the hardware specs are lower. In ways this is a plus as game designers must now focus on gameplay - the reason I bought it!

Had to jump through some hoops to get one but boy was it worth it. Had the same giddy feeling as when we hooked up the oringal nintendo and took turns playing super mario. It's a lot of fun and twilight princess is by far the best game I have ever owned. Wii remote & nunchuck become intuitive very fast. The shield biff with the nunchuck is my favorite.

So tiny and yet so fun

Strengths: Unique gameplay design, next generation gaming, fun filled hours, game included

Weakness: non hd gameplay, and old gaming graphics

This was rated high on my christmas list and i'm very glad to have it now and be able to play. I had the ps3 and have been waiting for a good solid game to come out but with no luck, after i got the wii, that's all that i've been playing, and i've been playing the free game whcih comes with it. I think that the funfactor in this little machine is amazing, especially with friends. Believe the hype, this system will change your mind or standard controllers

Wii Console

Strengths: Very easy to use, fun to play, and easy setup.

Weakness: No weakness really, Just make sure you use the wrist strap. Give yourself time to get use to using the controllers.

The whole family loves the wii console. It's fun and gets you moving around to play the games. I like a lot of the games and the unique way of playing with the controller and nunchuk. Love, Love, Love it!!! Would recommend to any novices like me, or true, long time gamers.

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...

Strengths: Fun, easy to use (relatively), cheap, motion sensing is very innovative, non gamers want to have a go!

Weakness: games aren't very hardcore in most cases, sometimes motion sensing is gimmmecky.

I have one and love it, but if you get it I really do think you should get a ps3 or 360 as well as the wii doesnt really give a hardcore experience. But all in all it is a great console at a great price with a wide range of games! Well worth a purchase.

NIntendo Wii

Strengths: Great family fun. Hard to put down

Weakness: Graphics are weak and the games so far arent too impressive.

Overall, the Nintendo Wii is a good system for the whole family. Graphics could be better but the fun factor makes up for it. I wouldnt recommend this to be your only console but as all other consoles are so expensive, this is a great buy while you wait for other consoles to come down in price. If you want to experience something totally new, this is it.

A Great way to Spend time with Family playing the Wii

Strengths: A great way to spend alot of quality time with your family. Fun for all ages

Weakness: N/A

This was purchased as a Xmas gift for our family. We will have plenty of fun family time together enjoying playing with the Wii. We all had the opportunity to play at friends houses and enjoyed everytime we played the Wii. It will be a great surprise for under the Xmas tree. I like the fact that you have to get up and move to play the games instead of just your fingers. Really looking forward to using it. Thanks again

Wii Console w Wii Sports Games

Strengths: Great interactive system for people 5-99 yrs old. Setup was quick & easy.

Weakness: System only comes with 1 controller...cost of system should have at minmum 2 ea controller & nunchuk

I am not a gamer so can not compare to other systems...I purchased at advice from friends for late night entertainment for visiting teens this summer. We had a great time playing and competing in tennis, bowling, golf, and baseball. Couldn't experience boxing game because the system requires 2 nunchuks...I might buy later...

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiii

Strengths: Very fun, Wii remote is a blast to work with.

Weakness: Graphics not as good as XBox360 or PS3.

The Wii is a great console. It is very versatile and has family fun as well as adult appeal. The seamless connectivity to Wi-Fi is also a nice bonus. Everything about it is fun and you actually get some strength in your hands and arms when playing it, since you are usually swinging or shaking the Wii-mote. While it does have the weaker graphics of the top 3 consoles out there, it is certainly good enough to enjoy.

Wii White Console

Strengths: Excellent game that requires physical activity. The best video game in existance today.

Weakness: Plays gamecube games but not effectively

This game provides some great family fun opportunities. It is electronic so the kids like it and the adults like the physical nature of the play and can compete because it requires use of muscles other than thumb!!!!

Next generation of Gaming!

Strengths: Unique one of kind gameplay senseor controller, many game not found any other system. able to play many classic controler, play all gamecube games.

Weakness: graphic isn't too good somehow i think is is worst than original xbox.

Nintendo had come long way making video game console, always suprise us for their idea of gaming, wii is really design more like a family or party style game. everyone would enjoy no matter what their age are.

Fun and Cheap for the whole family

Strengths: Cost, Size, experience, SD memeory!

Weakness: IRDA remote, should have made them bluetooth or RF

WOW! This is next generation gaming! I don't think next gen gaming = better graphic or $$$ console. The Wii has changed the VG world and has in my opinion taken the top spot in the console wars. They have everything going for them. They have enough available, cheap, fun for both kids and parents(golf), and small to put in a cabinate or next to your LCD TV.

Nintendo has a HIT with this one!

It WOULD be cheap if you can find one. Thanks to all the people on here and on Ebay that don't buy them directly from Nintendo, you can't find them at the retail price of $249.99. It's unbelievable that it is illegal to buy concert and other show tickets and resell them for a profit, yet this is allowed (and for a much higher profit at that). Thanks scalpers for ruining my kids Christmas this year.

Great console for all ages

Strengths: many fun games for large gatherings, unique design and cheapest console on the market, download retrogames

Weakness: does not read DVDs, still 'hard' to obtain compared to other consoles

I do not own a Wii but have borrowed a Wii for 2 months. The Wii is very fun but did get boring very fast. I would purchase a Wii though. Being able to download NES/SNES/N64 games is an awesome feature. I won't compare the Wii to the PS3 or XBox360 since that would turn this review into a 10 page essay. I wonder if they are going to 'revise' the Wii and make it able to read DVDs. I'd love to try the Wii Steering Wheel, MarioKart Wii and the Wii Zapper.

Nintendo did it again!

Strengths: Cool Remotes

Weakness: You can hit someone with the remote

This is one of the best things ever created! You can play many great games
(like The Legend Of Zelda: Twilight Princess,) check the news and weather,
make virtual people called miis, download photos from sd cards, and buy games from past consoles! It also comes with 2,000 blocks of memory, so you don't need to buy memory cards right after you get it! The Wii remote is also fun, you swing it to swing a tennis racket, slice to swing a sword, and much more!!! It also comes with wii sports so you can start playing right away! If you don't buy this, your missing out on a great thing!!!!!

Wii just dont like it

Strengths: Zelda, downloaded content,................. .. o wait thats it.

Weakness: sensor bar, controller doesn't work half the time, so aggravating when you play a game and the sensor bar does not work.

Do i recommend this product? NO NO NO NO one more time.........wait for it.... N0!. i was so exited for this product. i purchased it on the release date. and i regret it completely. graphics aren't important to me but for some one who is all about that. don't get this. the sensor bar doesn't work half of the time. the thing freezes alot.
i traded my wii for a ps3... wow did that guy get ripped off. PS3 is better. better graphics , and game play. i would not recommend this system to any one o owned at one point or time a ps3, x box 360 and wii , and trust me .PLEASE trust me . it doesn't even come close to comparing to either 360 or ps3. THE ZELDA FRANCHISE SHOULD COME TO PS3. I LIKE MARIO GAMES TO BUT THE WII DOES NOT LIVE UP TO THE MARIO FRANCHISE.

Strengths: it is the healthiest video game in the world

Weakness: some games can be used with the gamecube controller

when i first herd about the wii, i was shocked, so i said to my self:"this is the most healthy video game ever invented. so i thought it could be a good video game for my son, because everday i see him on the computer starring at the nintendo wii all day. so if any of you parents have a problem with your asking for video games the best choice is the nintendo wii :)

Overpriced Wii didn't work!

Strengths: Once we obtained a working system, it is fun.

Weakness: It did not work. We sent it back, and what we received still didn't work!

The Wii was a gift for my 6 and 7 yr old for Christmas... from Santa!! My husband was able to set it up, and they were just starting to play when the power shut down-- never to return. We sent the console and power cord back, and we received a new console. (I guess the same power cord.) It still didn't work. Finally, we were shipped a new power cord. It should have been recognized that the power cord was the issue or also an issue. However, the repair / service staff were very friendly and helpful. Still, I bought this overpriced game so my kids could have it on Christmas day and during break. Several weeks later on a school night, they were finally able to play it! Disappointing!!

Nintendo Wii console

Strengths: It has a unique playability, fun games and eye-popping graphics.

Weakness: Even though the remotes are wireless, the nunchuks have a wire that sometimes hits you in the face while you're boxing.

I love this console. It has brought my family closer when we spend time together. I showed it to my father-in-law who indeed loved it and had fun with the golf and bowling games that came with the console. I especially love the fact that it will play Gamecube games and will also use the Gamecube controllers, too.

Review

Strengths: Good family fun

Weakness: Requires a lot of space

This is a product that provides opportunities for a lot of good family fun. It does take a lot of room to enjoy properly and that could be a problem for those in apartments or other small living quarters.

Wii Console

Strengths: Great family entertainment and interactive media.

Weakness: Unavailability of some popular accessories.

The Wii console is the best selling game console in the world. I am confused by Nintendo's refusal to make more consoles and accessories available. The lack of units has created a black market that has driven up costs of a unit many would normally be able to afford.

Wii Console

Strengths: Easy to set up, user friendly, and appears durable.

Weakness: I haven't found any yet.

Realistic and you can certainly get a good workout. I bought it for my wife who has stroke related mobility difficulties. She's back into exercising now, and I'm having a great time with it, too.

Wii Console and Sports Game

Strengths: -Family-oriented -Simple to operate -Wii Sports requires to get off the couch and sweat

Weakness: -The remote/sensor system is not very good for fine or soft movements such as close putting in golf

It was a great gift for the whole family. Even my 63 y/o mother enjoys playing bowling. My wife is using it for exercising and I feel playing sports in a leveled play field with my young sons

Nintendo Wii Sport

Strengths: great product

Weakness: none

This gaming system has been a nice addition to my home. It works great and there has not been a single problem with it. It gets used multiple times a day daily. I highly recommend it if you like to play video games.

For the mature as well as the young!

Strengths: Great fun for the family of ALL ages. Bought this for my husband's 65th birthday. We play it with our sons and their spouses! We are having way too much fun! This is definitely not just for the young.

Weakness: The only weakness I have found is with Guitar Hero. I love playing it but there are no written instructions as to how you get to each level. You don't find out until you have "mastered" a song.

Buy it now! You won't regret it! Buy extra controllers so everyone can play and enjoy this great entertainment console. You will laugh at the contortionist you all become.

Unique gameplay

Strengths: Physical movement is the key, not just button pushing

Weakness: movements take time to figure out how to sync with the video characters

Our whole family plays, even the grandparents so that makes this system unique. We all get a workout by playing the boxing game. However I can't figure out how my movements are being translated to the video character. In time I expect more games with better perspectives and better matching of movement to come out though.

Wii sports games

Strengths: Fun for the whole family

Weakness: The graphics could be much better

I bought the Wii for my two kids after playing it at a friend's house. The sports games are good fun with realistic motions. The whole family can play and enjoy it. Highly recommended for party fun and family gatherings. One can play and execise at the same time. I look forward to the new "Fit" game that's coming out in May.

Wii as exercise

Strengths: simplicity in using console

Weakness: the only weakness is the person using it

My husband uses the Wii every morning as an exercise program. He enjoys it more than going to gym. The games are good because as you improve it gets more challenging.

It's become as much an entertainment staple as TV...

Strengths: It's motion-controlled (mostly), the next-gen of video gaming experience. Great internet interface and allows me to resurrect nostalgic games from old systems (Super Mario, etc.).

Weakness: Motion control is still in it's infancy. Most games don't utilize it like they should. Graphics are somewhat cartoony.

What else is there to say except that Nintendo actually found a way to get more money out of their patents for the power glove and power pad (anymore born after 1990 won't understand what I'm talking about). Motion controlled video gaming is the future and Nintendo is at the forefront. The Wii allows anyone to stop going to smoky bars to play virtual golf or bowling and do it from the comfort of their living room. My mom wants a Wii now and she never cared for video games before. The controls are easy to master, I just wish they had more games that utilized the motion controls to their fullest (give it a few years I'm sure). Once Wii Fit comes out, expect it all to change again. For the better. Yes, PS3 and W-Box 360 have better graphics, but the Wii is leagues ahead in terms of making video gaming an experience and everyone should have one in their house. No doubt about it.

Wii game console

Strengths: Great colors, connects to the internet easily.

Weakness: Not many game titles.

I have the Wii for one month, it is real fun, the remote unit is awesome, the games that come with it are OK. Unfortunately there are not many games in the market for it, very limited number of titles. I went to GameStop and could barely find a game I liked.

Wii is fun!

Strengths: This is an amazing product - the whole family loves it! We never get tired of it, and new games are continuously added.

Weakness: It is addictive :)

A wonderful alternative to board games. The whole family can play together. The Boxing option is a great way to get a cardio workout - really! I highly recommend it for all ages.

Fun, Great Value

Strengths: unique controllers, compact (unlike other consoles), durable, reasonable price (again, in comparison to other consoles), downloadable games w. internet connection

Weakness: lack of variety in games, no multi-player online

Most of the Wii's game selection are geared towards children, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're not fun for those a bit older as well (like me and my husband!) Both my 7 and 15 year old enjoy the same games, but I would've liked to see more of a variety for them to choose from. I like the fact that the console itself is compact enough to fit in most places, and it's very easy to pack up if the kids want to bring it to their friends' houses. We also enjoy the fact that most games require the kids to be active due to the motion-sensitive controller, rather than sit on the couch holding a remote for hours at a time! The only complaint I've heard so far is from my 15 year old who would've liked to play online with his friends. Other than that, I did appreciate how inexpensive the Wii was in comparison to the Playstation3 and Xbox 360. A bit hard to find in the stores (due to the low cost, I imagine), but definitely worth the money and wait.

Great product and much economical than XBox and PS3

Strengths: Great system better than XBox and PS3. Wireless remote is great with motion sensors. Easy setup. Can play Gamecube games.

Weakness: 1. Not many Wii enabled games. 2. Battery life is less.Wish could be improved.

1. Easy to use, even my 2yr can play game. Most exciting part is Wii Sports force your to get up from chair and jump, move, swing as you play.
2. Wireless remote is great.
3. There are not many games. But if you love Mario, Prince of Purussia, etc. Its fun. I hope it many classical games will be Wii enabled.
4. Its fun for 1yr old - 80 yr old. Great for family get together.

Wii (My first game console)

Strengths: Interactivity, ease of use, sound, connectivity, support.

Weakness: Screen resolution.

I weighed a lot of factors before deciding which platform to go with and in spite of the screen resolution issue (exacerbated by the fact that I have a large 1080p LCD flatscreen) I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'m really happy with the decision to go with the Wii.

Wii Console

Strengths: Easy to setup and use. Nice family fun.

Weakness: Batteries go fast in remote replace often. Best to get rechargables.

Gaming system is fun for the entire family. Easy to setup and use. Comes with a set of sports games which are quite entertaining. Extra remote is desired for two player games. Sharing a remote is a little bothersome with the wrist straps.

Wii Love It!

Strengths: Interactive gameplay is unrivaled by other consoles.

Weakness: Graphics output tops out at 480p, if you by component cables. Well short of the 1080i that is output by other platforms.

So far, so good. This makes you the coolest kid on your block. Everyone of all ages and of gaming ability has fun with this console. Online play and the ability to download old NES games (for a price) is pretty sweet.

Wii...a little too late

Strengths: great for kids and entertaining a group

Weakness: a little harder for the "older", not so computer literate folks. It's been out for a long time, although hard to get, the thrill of having it is gone.

Wii has been so hard to find I was tickeled when I did find it finally. However, I guess it took me too long, because it seems now that the family isn't as excited about it and would rather sell it and purchase something else. I think we've used it too many times at others homes and the thrill is gone.

Wii is a WOW

Strengths: Very realistic play.

Weakness: Graphics not quite as good as XBox360 or PS3.

What a hit with everyone! Good family entertainment. Bowling is realistic. Golf - strokes are a bit touchy but easily mastered with practice and patience. Boxing is strenous but great fun.

Wii Console

Strengths: Product is very good at handling the remote interface.

Weakness: Cooling system design for setting up the Wii in the vertical position is poor. Need to add a cooling fan to ensure that the unit does not overheat!!!!

Console works very well and handles the interactive interface with remotes quite well. No problems to date and suggest you purchase remote charging battery packs so you won't wonder what's happening in the middle of a game when the batteries go weak.

Weakness: will not work

purchased the WII, hooked it up all we got was feedback from the TV. Called Nintendo Support, they walked us thru the set up on 2 separate TV,s they said it must be bad unit. Strengths: Nice looking

Weakness: The price

Wii Console is Cool

Strengths: The kids & I love it. I especially like it because the kids are not just sitting there, they are part of the action.

Weakness: Hard to find locally. Had to buy online and pay slightly more, but it was well worth it.

If your kids are going to have a video game, I would highly recommend the Wii. When we can't go outside this is great entertainment that either 1 - 3 can play. We are going to get one more control & accessories to bring it up to four (4) players.

Fun Console

Strengths: Fun, social gaming.

Weakness: Game selection (though this is getting better).

As a fairly serious gamer, I was resistant to the Wii but got it for my wife who is a very casual gamer at best. I am glad I did! Even the Wii Sports game that came with it is incredibly addictive. The Wii performs best in a casual group setting among friends and family where everyone can get involved and have fun.

The Wii Game System

Strengths: interactive, allows for creativity, affords opportunity for problem solving, cooperation, and conflict mnagement

Weakness: limited number can play

The Wii is superior to the more phsically passive video games. It is a step in the right direction of making kids more active physically each day. It's not a substitute for outside activity, but can be a substitute for watching T.V.

My kids love it! And I got it for MSRP

Strengths: Motion sensing, no weird keypads. Everyone in the family can enjoy it. Really accurate movements for most games like Tennis etc.

Weakness: Graphics aren't as good as the more expensive consoles. Can see some jaggies on HDTVs. But can live with them

What can I say, this is the first product that had me raving about it to all my friends! My kids love it and everyone in my family can't get enough of it. This is one of the few electronic gadgets I think it's well worth the money spent.

Don't hesitate. Buy it if you can find it! Now talking about finding it, don't go running around stores and waking up at odd hours to stand in lines. I tried that a week and got disappointed.

The easy way to buy a wii is online, and you can sign up for cellphone alerts from sites like wiialerts.com (thats what helped me). They sent me a cell alert and sure enough, I was able to buy a Wii at MSRP, no tax, no shipping from amazon!

Nintendo WII

Strengths: Interactive games

Weakness: Graphics

I would first like to say that if you are looking for the best graphics just skip this game system.
If you are looking for the most interactive and fun game system this is the one. I bought this game system because my WIFE wanted it!!! Setting up the WII is pretty simple and getting started is easy as well.
The sports games that come with the WII are fun but buying the extra controller and numbchuck will cost about $60.00 US
If you are looking for some fun entertainment and a little exercise this is the game system for you!

Fun Console!

Strengths: Revolutionary wireless controller.

Weakness: Not very accurate on FPS games.

The most fun gaming console since the original Nintendo console. Gaming is fun again. I'm not terribly impressed with the only FPS game I've tried so far but I'm reserving judgment on that. Someone will come up with a game tailored to the Wii pretty soon. The best are the sports games, that's where the Wii really shines.

Wii gaming console

Strengths: games, the motion sensing controllers

Weakness: You must wear the wrist strap, real easy to accidentally throw the controler while playing some games.

This is a great game console for the whole family. We have even had grandma and grandpa playing with us. There are games that are easy enough for kids and non video game players to get good at and enjoy, but there are games that are very challenging for the advanced video gamers too.

Strengths: Compact, Awesome lifelike "motion" controls, backwards compatibility with older games.

Weakness: Don't abuse the hi-tech controllers.

Fun for the whole family

Strengths: By combining passive physical activity (well maybe not with the boxing game!)with the element of tactile, visual and audio response makes the Wii a homerun.

Weakness: Graphics are a little weak in detail, but I'm running it on an older TV at 480i. Maybe in high def mode you will see better video performance and detail.

It's a great thing for bringing together family and friends. Plus you get to work in some exercise in a fun way. I can't wait to hook it up to my DLP projector and get it going in high def and big screen.

Strengths: Entertaining and everyone can play.

Weakness: Availibility of software and some hardware.

This is a very entertaining game system which is extremely user friendly. The setup to play time is minimal and the learning curve for the games is small. I really enjoy the fact that the games can be played by everyone because of the game cntrollers used. The sports games are really fun to play and be played using the full action of the sport or sitting and using your wrist action alone.
