Oh my goodness

Strengths: Speed, and cost

Weakness: I have yet to find any.

My last computer was built about 5 years ago so you can imagine the speed I am upgrading from to this speed demon. My old AMD was also giving me some stability issues so I went with this intel and for the last 5 days I haven't had a single problem. I haven't overclocked it as I am looking for long life and stability in my HTPC. The size of the cooler provided with the chip surprised me but it keeps me running around 40 degees celsius. I plan on upgraded the fan to a slightly quieter and cooler solution but for now the stock suits me just fine.

installation was a breeze, unlike my amd but as expected with time comes easier install.

The price point surprised me because I recall paying at least 400 dollars for my processer 5 years ago at pretty much the same performance level back then.

I would very much reccommend purchasing this chip.

Glad i bought should you wait or buy now

Strengths: -Core 2 Duo (65NM) -Speed -Dual Core -Overclocking ability -Large Cache

Weakness: -Price (but all things are relative)

-Bought two processors for two different builds. This is the second processor. Paired it with Gigabytes GA-P35-DS3R motherboard.-
-First I opted not to use Intel's stock cooler. Paired it up with a Zalman CNPS9500LED. Not the best cooler on the market but pairs up well with this Core 2 Duos.
-The processor itself is fast natively. Before I get into overclocking (I am currently testing stability at stock speeds/RAM etc.)
-Setting up Windows XP Pro 64 bit edition took about 15 minutes, less if I'd noticed the user prompts.
-Everything I do from Virus scanning to defragmenting is quicker.
-Couldn't be happier with this processor. I was testing out the dvd player and the CPU's barely break a sweat.
-Testing the whole system with a P3 kill a watt meter really cemented my excitement as older Pentium 4 Prescott systems with less than 1/2 the performance from CPU & graphics card are similar to this new build with a much faster graphics card.
-Computing benchmarks programs like PCmark, rate it in the top tier.

My only complaint is the cost. And cost is relative. Compared to what we paid for the first Pentium 4's this is practically FREE. But knowing that the new 45NM's are right around the corner & will again have a price decrease...
-If I hadn't have bought this processor a few months back (three) i'd have probably decided to wait for Penryn's to come out.
WOULD DEFINATELY BUY AGAIN. MORE TO COME AFTER OC'd

Strengths: Speed, Price

Love this processor. The first Core2Duo I've had and I'm completely happy with it. Runs fast, runs cool (even under heavy load). At the time I bought this it was the best bang for my buck. Quad cores were a bit outside my price range so this seemed like the next best option.

sturdy processor

Strengths: Good specs for the price. Core 2 architecture is always a plus.

Weakness: Would've been nice to find this processor as an OEM item to save a few dollars.

This processor was easy to install and it came with a nice heatsink/fan. LGA 775 specifications mean this is easy to work with and hard to mess something up / break something.

Great Processor

Strengths: This thing is an overclocking machine. 3.2ghz easily without adding voltage, could probably get 3.5ghz with no sweat. I haven't messed with voltages, but a popular website got this proc. to 3.92 with ease.

Weakness: Are you kidding? - None

With a bump of the FSB to 400, and no change in voltage you can toast the Extreme one-thousand dollar processor. What more could you ask for? Currently running P35-DS3P, with 4MB of Crucial Extreme ram with Vista.

Fast Processor

Strengths: Great Price for 2.66 ghz/1333 fsb processor! No problem installing on my Asus P5N-E nForce 650i SLI motherboard. Stock heat sink and fan took just a little force to get on the MB, but not much.

Weakness: No indication of what kind of paste on the heatsink

The stock heatsink works as long as you are not overclocking. It has some sort of paste on the heatsink, but no reference of what kind. Replace the paste with some good quality thermal grease like Artic Silver 5.

Wonderful CPU

Strengths: Competitive price, runs really fast, the 1333 FSB definitely worth the slight price increase, completely compatible with my Abit IP35-E MB.

Weakness: None.

Really like it. Definitely choose this one over the 1066 FSB models, for a little more you will get a lot more! And I'd glad to upgrade over my previous Intel E4300.

E6750 -- Excellent CPU

Strengths: Fast, Overclocks well, Runs cool.

Weakness: Stock heat sink and fan.

Increased bus to 400MHz, x8 multiplier, I have a cpu that's running at 3.2GHz on air. Without increasing the core voltage! Temperature is cool - idles at around 40C. This cpu paired with Abit IP35 pro is really an OC dream.

The stock HS and fan is a pain to install. I'm really worried it could break the mother board when I press the push pins. The fan runs noisy but it's subjective, the stock cpu fan was the loudest in my system. I replaced it after I decide to overclock.

Overall very happy with the product.

One of the best chips for the money!

Strengths: Excellent cost to performance factor, runs cool, doesn't draw a ton of power, GO stepping - excellent ability to overclock.

Weakness: Stock fan isn't the best.

This has got to be one the best chips you can buy right now for the money. With GO stepping, you can overclock this chip like crazy. Just make sure to go out and buy an after market fan. This will decrease the heat build up associated with the higher run rates. Plus, you can avoid the difficult installation associated with the stock fan. Also, make sure to buy a decent motherboard so that you can overclock the system memory to take full advantage of what this chip do. Getting it to a stable 3.5 - 3.6 GHz shouldn't be a problem and will run everything you can throw at it. Overall, the best bang for the buck right now if you are looking for an Intel processor. I highly recommend it!

intel e6750 c2d

Strengths: high stock performance

Weakness: similiar performanceto e6600 when overclocked

I was skeptical at first but the processor does shine on the p35 boards. stock numbers are great especially for price, but the e6600 i think offers similiar performance when overclocked. a very good chip nonetheless.

Core 2 Duo E6750

Strengths: Speed, low temperature, low power consumption

Weakness: None that I can think of

I upgraded my computer with this processor, replacing an Pentium D 2.8GHz. I am really amazed at the spped of this processor, even without any overclocking. I am a graduate students that needs to do a lot of programming, and my codes now runs 3-4 times faster. The temperature is also very low, only about 25C, as oppose to 50+C with Pentium D. Overall, I am very happy with this processor, great bang for the buck.

Core 2 Duo E6750 Dual Core Processor Review

Strengths: High FSB, new steeping: G0, lower power consumption,

Weakness: price

I buy E6750 becase 1)the Core 2 Cuo E6750 has high FSB: 1333Mhz, and thus the higher stock clock speed, 2) the G0 steeping consume low power, thus it generate less heat, so it's more easier to overclock. The 6x50 also has 4MB cache, which make it a lottle faster in cache sensitive App. The price is only 2/3 that of E6850.

For $200, I thinl it's a little high.

Great Bang for the Buck

Strengths: Excellent overclocker will outrun almost anything else including quad cores on programs that don't use 4 cores

This was my first C2Duo build after a long happy run with my IC7 3.0 Northwood.

Built this system using 2 gig 8500 Ballistix and 2 150 Raptors in Raid Zero with 8800GT 512 meg card...

Using the Si128 cooler from thermal right I have it daily driver settings running 466 FSB... thats right the ram is running at 1120 mhz....

On everest I get over 23K CPU score and 10K memory read speeds...


Great chip if you do NOT need 4 cores...

Runs with 8400's at 4ghz..


(did some benching at 4 ghz myself..)

Great Chip!

Strengths: Bang for the buck winner in ocing forums these days.

This chip matches up perfectly with an IP35 PRO for stunning performance when overclocked..
I have outbenchmarked quad xeon systems in CPU test.

Cryis plays smoothly at high resolution with a 8800GT...

This is a no brainer setup for top performance for the money..

Great Processor

Strengths: Very powerfull, and for a very good price. i bought this for $190, for my senior project (building a computer) and it is a very good processor. Im not into overclocking, but it does overclock.

Weakness: none, other then not being a quad. but who can complain for the price?

Junior in a Tech School. im in a Computer Maintenence shop and im enjoying learning about computers. I put together this mid range computer for my senior project, and its a very good processor for a mid-ranged computer.

Great Processor

Strengths: Blazing fast, very overclockable, price

This is the best processor value at a great price point!
Slightly priced over AMD's top processors, but significant performance increase. Great for burning DVD's and gaming. It does it all, and all great!

At the time of purchase, I was deciding between dual core and quad core. Well, a nice sale came for the dual core and that was it. Didn't feel the need for quad at this time. I was not disappointed. Blazing performance! My next CPU will probably one of the 45nm Quad core processors.

Strengths: price, low power consumption

Weakness: none

Works great at 8x400mhz without voltage change on my abit ip35 board. CPU core temp stabilizes around 35C when idle, 55C when fully utilized. Excellent core 2 architecture. Can not beat it in the ~$200 price range. Great performance/price ratio.

This is a really nice CPU. I was able to OC it to 3.2GHz with the stock cooling. It works well with Abit IP35-E motherboard and Ballistix PC2-6400 memory. I will try to OC it to 3.6GHz or higher when I get my aftermarket cooler.

This chip is very fast. It has 1333FSB and can handle pretty much anything you throw at it. Overclocking isn't necessary with this chip but if one was incline to do so it is very possible. The price on this is cheaper than E6600 now which only has 1066FSB and is 2.4Ghz. This is the best bang for the buck.

Best performance and value for your money!

Strengths: Fast 1333 MHz Bus, 4 MB L2 cache, low power consumption at 65W, heat sink and fan included. 3-year warranty. This CPU can be overclocked to 3.2 - 3.5 GHz with quality components.

I researched all the Intel processors and found the Core 2 Duo family to provide the best performance, value, and overclocking potential. I purchased the E6750 (~$190) as it was a high-end CPU more reasonably priced than the top-of-the-line E6850 (~$280). The processor and heat sink/fan combo installed easily in a Gigabyte P35-GA-DS3P motherboard. The heat sink already comes with thermal grease that can be easily smeared if not careful when attaching it to the CPU. I run the CPU at stock speed and the ambient case temperature is about 31C. The CPU can be overclocked to 3.2-3.5 GHz but I have not overclocked it myself as the stock speed is already fast enough to run all my existing applications and games, i.e. Vista, Office 2007, Quicken and C&C. Overclocking can lessen the life of the components and increase heat inside the case, but it can future-proof the PC for the next couple of years until more CPU intensive applications and/or games are available.

Core 2 Duo E6750 - Excellent OC CPU

Strengths: Comes will a 3 year warranty from retail. OC to 3.0 GHZ with no problems

One of the best processor I ever got. Using a Asus P5N-E Motherboard with AI overclocking made easy. Pump it up with a XFX 8600GT 3X edition video card. No heat issue yet.

Wonderful CPU, Reasonable Price

Strengths: G0 stepping is great and make the CPU run cool. Easy to overclock. Reasonable Price.

Weakness: The stock fan is a little loud.

The stock heatsink has thermal grease on it, so needn't to buy a extra grease.
It is very easy for overclock. I OCed it to 3.0GHZ with the vcore=1.2V. When I tried to OCed it to 3.2+GHZ, I found I had to add the voltage(My MB choose 1.35V automatically). I OCed it to 3.66GHZ and it is still stable but a little heat, nearly 10C higher than it that runs on 3.0GHZ
