NVidia NVTV TV TunerStrengths: Price Easy installation Weakness: Written documetation I am new to the video capture arena. But even I could make the Nvidia work right out of the box. eVGA NVTV Single TV Tuner
Strengths: Works seamlessly with Windows Media Center Edition 2005
Weakness: Works ONLY with Windows Media Center Edition 2005
I purchased this PCI PC tv tuner card for my Dell 8400 Dimension desktop and all is good. The picture quality is excellent and the price point is pretty reasonable; of course, if you want to get a dual Nvidia NVTV tv tuner--record one channel while you watch another--it costs nearly double. I'm fairly content with just recording stuff with the card and watching another tv if I don't want to see the recorded program. The only negative aspect to this card is that it is only compatible with Windows Media Center Edition 2005. That's fine for me since that's the OS I have installed, but just make sure you have it as well. This card has been reviewed by a few hardware sites and it has received favorable scores.
