Intel Pentium 4 - 2.80 GHz Processor

Strengths: Great performance/cost ratio. Good for playing recent games such as UT2k4. Can be used in most Intel P4 motherboard from past 2 years (may req BIOS update). Bug free D1 Stepping (s-Spec SL6QB).

Weakness: Slight - 512 kB cache not 1 Mb like "Extreme Edition" CPUs. No Hyperthreading.

At $162 + $8 for 3-day shipping (for retail package with heatsink and fan) this was an excellent upgrade. Top end P4s still don't provide the best performance to price ratio. Great processor for gaming enthusiasts on a budget. Always insist on latest CPU stepping (version) which currently for this processor (2.8 GHz, 533 MHz FSB) is "D1" with Intel s-Spec# SL6QB or SL6PF.

Intel Pentium 4 - 2.80 GHz Processor

Strengths: Speed and cost!

Weakness: none found.

I used this CPU to upgrade a two year old system originally containing a 1.8GHz Pentium 4. Running a performance test prior to and post installation (with additional 256Meg RAM) proved a 65% increase in performance! Check motherboard specs and BIOS updates prior to any upgrade.

Intel Pentium 4 - 2.80 GHz Processor

Strengths: price & speed

Weakness: none

For what ever reason, the price verses speed of this processor is the best niche in the Intel lineup. I paid about $165 for this unit, and the next notch up,the 3.0 ghz is over $210. I was easily able to clock this unit to 3.4ghz.

Intel Pentium 4 - 2.80 GHz Processor

Strengths: Intel is a very reliable product and they provide support and a three year warranty if needed.

Weakness: I do not find any weaknesses with this product.

It is an Intel product and I have been using Intel in the past and find them very reliable. I was very pleased when I installed it on my new Intel Motherboard and it worked as great as I thought it would. I would recommend this processor to my friends and family.

Intel Pentium 4 - 2.80 GHz Processor

Strengths: Hyperthreading, Cool running, overall just a powerful CPU even with the new p4 C CPU model running at (800 mhz fsb) this CPU will give you the power you need to anything for a longtime.

Weakness: Price would be a factor that Intel has to work on a bit but it is worth it. This CPU like all high end CPU needs alot of RAM. For example take a 600 hp car and stick a sprint muffler on it lol

Over all this CPU is worth what they say it is Excellent constant power must have cpu for power users not recommend for server use the Xeon class proccers they are made for servers!

Intel Pentium 4 - 2.80 GHz Processor

Strengths: CPU run cool - great for most applications and games.

Weakness: Hyperthreading would be great. Would like to see more L2 or L3 Cache.

A great processor for mid to entry level workstations. Would buy again. Should be able to run most games and most application for home or bussiness use.
