Very nice hard drive

Strengths: large space, quiet, long warranty, low temperature

Weakness: none so far

I replaced my old 80g hard drive in my T61 with this 250g one. Now, no need to delete any files. And I can keep all my music, movies and games. My laptop works as smoothly as before. No delay, no noise, no high temperature. I am not sure about the effect on the battery time. I have not tested it. The price is OK.

Worked well after changing BIOS in Dell

Physically, the drive installed easily into my Dell Vostro 1500. However, when I did a clean install on Vista, I would frequently get the famous Microsoft Blue Screen of Death. I searched online and could not find a solution. Then, I looked around in the BIOS settings and experimented with changing SATA from the default position (AHCI) to ATA. This also required turning OFF the Flash Cache Module. Everything works fine now. I did a search on this change, and discovered that Dell frequently recommends changing these settings for many types of initial hard drive issues. Hope this helps you if you have a problem.

My Windows Experience Index for the hard drive increased to 5.3, when I installed this hard drive. The drive is quiet and has had no further problems.

Nice product ; recommend it

Strengths: more space ; 5 yr warranty ; OK price ; doesn't get hot like my older drive used to ;

Weakness: None

Would definitely recommend it if you looking to upgrade from a 80 or 120 gig ; great price and its backed by the 5 yr warranty ; doesn't come in a retail box though. I saw some performance reviews stating that it is better than 80 gig 7200 rpm drives (not in all cases) .Installation was a breeze .
