MSI P7N PLATINUMStrengths: GOOD PRICE, 3 PCI SLOTS, 45NM SUPPORT, AND IS REALLY EASY TO UPDATE THE DRIVERS/BIOS. Weakness: NONE! OTHER THAN ANOTHER PCI SLOT SHOULD BE x16 BUT U COULD JUST BUY A FASTER VIDEOCARD FOR THE BETTER PEFORMENCE. I LOVE MSI PRODUCTS THEY ARE SO GOOD I HAVE 3 MSI MOTHERBOARDS AND THEY ARE CHEAP, FAST, RELIABLE, AND SO EASY TO UPDATE (JUST 2 CLICKS AND ITS UPDATED)AND 45NM READY/SUPPORTED SO I STRONGLY RECOMEND THIS PRODUCT! 0% of readers found this review helpful. A Real PleasureStrengths: Extremely stable, auto overclocking a plus, easy to upgrade via MSI utilities. Weakness: SATA connections to board awkward to access. ATX board was larger then my old ATX board so I needed to purchase a new case. Easiest board I have ever worked with. Instructions were good, General design of board made for easy install except as noted above. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

A performance motherboard cloaked in an affordable...
Strengths: Cost. Performance. Support for PCI Express 2.0. 3 PCI-Express-16 slots give it triple card SLI capability. 750i chipset. DDR2 support. Supports LGA 775 intel processors.
Weakness: Could use more SATA connectors & less IDE connectors. Color coding for memory layout is non-standard.
This motherboard delivers strong performance and features at reasonable price. The motherboard supports DDR2, not DDR3, and there is no real performance difference at this time -- while there is a huge price difference. The board is fully featured -- 2x IDE-133 connectors, 4x SATA-2 connectors, connectors/headers for 8 USB ports, connectors for 2 Firewire ports, 2 e-SATA connectors, one Gigabit LAN controller, 8 channel audio, just to mention a few things. It would have been better to have one less IDE-133 connector and two more SATA-2 connectors, but four SATA-2 connectors are probably fine for most people. One other small comment -- some people have been having BSOD problems relating to NVIDIA's SATA drivers and SATA optical disks (search for BSOD, NVGTS.SYS, and 750i or 780i), but these appear to be anectdotal rather than universal and may be related to not having properly installed the correct NVIDIA driver set. All in all, I have been quite satisfied with this motherboard -- it really is a performance motherboard cloaked in an affordable price.
