Crucial Ballistix 1GB (2x512MB) PC2-6400 DDR@ Memory...

Strengths: CL4 memory with rock-solid Micron chips.

Weakness: The voltage requirement is 2.2v, which may be a limiting factor for many motherboards. However, it sould operate at lower voltages, but may not operate at the maximum speed.

This Crucial Ballistix memory PC2-6400 1GB kit (2x512MB) was installed in an existing computer with a Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) kit already installed running Vista Home Premium. Installation was easy, filling the last two dual channel memory slots available. Although Vista ran fine, I though an extra 1GB of memory wouldn't hurt..and it didn't. A improvement was observed (at least perceived)...

High quality, but overpriced

Strengths: Rock solid stability

Weakness: Expensive, not really 4-4-4-12

So, surprise, surprise... If you read the serial presence detect (SPD) EEPROM on these modules with something like SPDtool or using the BIOS information on a motherboard like the Intel DP965LTCK, you'll find that these aren't really 4-4-4-12 modules. In reality, they're rated for 5-5-5-18 @ 1.8V. This is because the SPD standard (which you can find by Googling) does not have a means of defining a...

excellent ram

Strengths: looks nice performs great

Weakness: needs 2.2v

i would recommend this ram over any other ddr800 because it is fast with 4 4 4 12 timing and can over clock past ddr1000 if you like to. crucial ballistix is guaranteed micron d9 because crucial is owned by micron. looks very nice in person very shiny.

Crucial Ballistix 1GB PC2-6400 DDR2

Strengths: 4-4-4-12 timings at 800 - 5-5-5-15 at 1066 - Lifetime warranty

Weakness: Price is a bit high for 2 x 512mb

I've used several different brands of memory over the past 15 years, but in the last 2 years of been using strictly Crucial. Knock on wood, I have yet to have a problem with Crucial / Micron memory. These sticks are no exception, and in fact I was pleased when I found that I could run these at 1066 speeds. I only purchased the 2x 512mb to match up with the 2 x 1Gb I already had on a 32 bit...

Ballistix 1GB Memory Kit

Strengths: Great Speed and Quality

Weakness: None so far

Great RAM. Worked well with the existing 2 x 1GB modules. Very stable. A little expensive compared to other brands but worth every penny. Highly recommended. the voltage is 2.2v which may be a limitation.

Ballistix 1GB Kit

Strengths: Micron D9 chips. 4-4-4-12 timings. Great OC memory

Weakness: None so far

This memory kit is a great compliment to any 2GB ddr2-800 Ballistix kit, if you run the 32 bit version of Vista like I do. It runs 4-4-4-12 at 2.18v without any problem. My motherboard recognized it right away. Have not had any problem so far.

Great over clocker's RAM

Strengths: performance, price

Weakness: None

Bought these to use in my new build with my existing 2GB OCZ platinum rev. 2. Due to the rebate, I paid only $11 for this 1GB kit. Overclocked them to 1000MHz at 2.0V without any issue. The memory runs cool, too. If you can get this kit for cheap, buy it to bring your system to 3GB. Most system are 32-bit and windows will only recognize ~3.25GB if you put 4GB in your system. If you are going to...

Good, Fair Priced Memory

Strengths: Head Spreader.

Weakness: Only 512MB per stick.

This memory seems to work fine. I haven't really used it much, but Crucial seems to always work for me. The only disadvantage I could see was that each stick is only 512MB which is slowly becoming useless with the demanding requirements of recent games, applications, and operating systems. Good memory overall though for the price.

The best memory I have ever owned

Strengths: The Ram is super fast and stable. Works great with the setting of 4-4-4-12 @ 2.2v.

Weakness: None so far.

The Ram works perfectly right out of the box. No problem with overclocking it. Crucial Memory is just the best. They are very reliable and compatible. I highly recommend it.

Cheap upgrade!

Strengths: Stable, good timing.

Weakness: Heat spreader is somehow loosely attched

I bought this Crucial Ballistix 2x512M pc2-6400 ram kit to pair with my existing 2x1GB memory. With total 3GB system memory, my desktop computer can still use dual channel memory bandwith and windows XP has no difficulty recognizing 3GB memory. This ram kit works very well, I set the timing to 4-4-4-12 under 1.9V memory voltage. System now works very stable and fast. The only drawback is that the...
