AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: Everything about this processor is a strength. Even the price is lower than what Intel would ever bring out. The biggest strength is the extra 512KB of L2 Cache that this processor brings on board.

Weakness: The biggest weakness right now, is that there aren't really any programs out there to use with the 64-bit processor.

Even though there are not many programs designed for 64-bit processors, this processor works to make your 32-bit experience better. Until I bought this AMD processor I had always been a huge Intel fan, but since then, all of my home computers and business computers have been switched over to the AMD Athlon 64 3200+. I enjoy everything about this processor and recommend it to not just gamers, but...

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: comparable to intels 3ghz with HT, with consistent case temperature, and runs halflife and halo very smoothly with radeon 9600. stellar reviews from experts with 32 and 64-bit compatability

Weakness: Minimal overclocking capabilities with stock fan and heatsink. Where are the 64-bit compatible programs?????

Purchase of extra cooling devices is an excellent idea to use processor to its full potential. The elimination of the FSB clearly improves performance. AMD proves once again that it is the processor of gamers.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: Yes, it's a good CPU. And, yes, it's fast. Good job AMD. Keep up the good work. (Down fanboys, down! Heh heh.)

Weakness: Pricey but worth it. Gone are the days of the cheap AMD chips. But, it offers good performance for the price.

ZipZoomFly and NewEgg can get one in your hands now. Let me just add that the box a friend has it in runs superbly. But, gone are the days of the cheap AMD CPU. Is it fast? Undoubtedly. Good chip. The price will come down over time erasing my only minor gripe. The Athlon64 series is definitely something to watch for all real world users as well as the enthusiast crowd.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: fast, stable, runs cool, and 64 bit

Weakness: no 64 bit software yet

I got this processor for my birthday about a month ago. i have it installed to the gigabyte k8vnxp motherboard. the processor and this board run very stable. No signs of weekness yet. it is incredably fast. with the stock heatsink it runs on average about 29 degrees celsuis which is 84 degrees ferehiet. this is impressive to me becuase my old amd athlon 2100+ ran at about 55 degrees celsuis. I...

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: Though the clock speed rating is 2GHz, it feeles like it's running at 2.6 to 3 GHz. Getting rid of the FSB prabably helped!

Weakness: The price is a bit on the expensive side...

Installing Windows XP Professional took 45 min (including formatting hard drive and downloading Windows Updates)! The Athlon 1.4 GHz takes about 3-4 hours!!! I am using this with the Asus K8V Deluxe motherboard. It is sleek. Overall this is the best CPU. It kicks the Pentium's butt big time!!!

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: 64 bit CPU, 1MB L2 Cache, YES 1600Mhz Bus!! P4 only 32bits slower and not ready for upcoming Windows XP 2004

Weakness: none

Make it very short I say this cpu is super fast.I am running 2Ghz @ 2.6Ghz, With that speed and Radeon 9800 pro, I got 7500 marks in 2003 3Dmark!Before I had P4 2.2GHz and same video card I had only 5300 score in 3D Mark 2003.The CPU and Radeon 9800 PRO will blow you away for sure.5 stars for 64 bit cpu! AMD GOOD WORK.

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: Fast Chip, easy install

Weakness: None Yet

This was my first time ever building a computer. I don't have any official benchmarks, but this chip appears to be lightning fast. The install was easy enough, and the documentation had enough info and pictures that I didn't get confused or frustrated. Chip has been running fairly cool at normal non-gaming use (around 37C) with the stock heatsink and fan. It's installed in an Antec case with only...

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: Faster than Pentium 3.2 ghz in many games, but for the same price you also get 64 bit capability. Runs 92 deg F with Cool and Quiet feature enabled. Flawless, blue screen free operation for 2 wks

Weakness: Not inexpensive

Since installing this chip I've had fast, butter smooth operation. It has also improved my audio sound quality (higher resolution and fidelity to the naked ear), my video quality, gaming experience (unbelievable is the only word that applies)and every day work efficiency (word processing, handling large files is a snap). I am able to multitask to the hilt without a hiccup. It also runs at at a...

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: * Very good with gaming. * Extreamely fast.

Weakness: * If not warmed up, it can be a little slow.

This CPU is the best one I've had experience with. Better than the P4 series, Celeron series, and the Athlon XP series, this CPU takes no time at all to display websites. Not only is websurfing very fast with it, it never crashes while I play games. The only downside to the CPU is that if you leave it sleeping overnight (computer on, but standby, or on screensaver) it can be a little slow until...

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.0GHz Processor

Strengths: Strong 64 Bit Processor w/ native 32 bit support too. Prices are dropping fast as the new AMD's are arriving.

Weakness: Don't support Dual Channel memory like my P4C 3.0GHz does. My P4 nearly out performs it in every aspect w/ 32 bit XP.

When 64 Bit Retail version of Windows finally arrives I think it will be a killer CPU. I have the beta 64 bit XP version but there's too many bugs with it to run effectively as I'd like. Overall I like the AMD for overclocking and the new Nvidia 250Gb Chipset boards have helped considerabley with overclocking the socket 764 AMD 64. I'm still using my P4 most of the time for gaming as it will over...
