Full Featured Socket 939 mATX Motherboard

Strengths: Relatively complete feature set w/ good performance and some overclocking capabilities. No drivers needed for SATA for windows XP install. Relatively high quality for a low price.

Weakness: No HD audio onboard, no PCIe 1x slots. Northbridge heatsink can interfere w/ some heatsinks. Lousy manual, unfamiliar BIOS.

mATX Socket 939 motherboards really won't get much better than this. It's got an impressive feature set including 8 channel audio, firewire, and 4x SATA Ports. It's also got fan speed controls from within the bios, an large heatsink on the northbridge, and some overclocking controls. Notably missing are the PCIe 1x slots, which are the future. I wanted to use this board with a Scythe Samari-Z rev...

workds great and stable under win and ubuntu

Strengths: pretty decent graphics,6-channel sound output, sure reasonable price

Weakness: The CPU heat sink is too close to the north bridge, hard to install CPU; the manual is almost useless, have to get help from website. The bios is still 2005 version, but smoothly updated to 2006

It's a good MB, runs great for my athlon64 3200+. Considering its price, 6150+430 chipset, I think it's a good choice. ideal for limited budged. Not good for gamer.

Crossing my fingers

Strengths: Mature technology, and quite capable

Weakness: I keep hearing bad reports, especialy re Smart Fan

OK, I was looking for a cheap board to house some cast-off 939 cpu's, using some old ddr memory sticks. This was what I chose, and so far, so good. Note that they are labeled for business, so the gamer in me needs to go rest. I have made three builds and all were painless. Integrated video is adequate -- certainly for the price.

good & economical

Strengths: Good Price Good features like DVI

Weakness: DDR ram is pricey.

I wanted to build a system for my parents suitable for their daily use. I wanted to try an AMD system. This mother board looked decent and I bought a MB+CPU+RAM bundle from newegg for a decent price and built the system. Instructions were clear.

Very good S939 board for a base PC

Strengths: * It has everything you would need for a basic desktop PC

Weakness: * None so far

I was looking to buy a MB for a very cheap/inexpensive desktop PC for my young kids (run PC educational games). Was able to build a nice gig for under $200. The MB has built-in Graphics, Gigabit Lan, Audio. Slapped in Athlon64 3000+, 1GB RAM. Installed a HDD drive from another old desktop and I was good to go. No issues.

Just the things you need and nothing else

Strengths: Everything is on-board, including decent video, 4 SATA ports and Gigabit Ethernet

Weakness: Packaging and manuals are pretty basic

No glitz, just what you need in a board like this. It had all the features I was looking for, started up without a hitch and has been working perfectly since then.

foxconn nice boar

Strengths: fast onboard vid 3 pci slots passive cooling

Weakness: no spdif on board (need to buy an adapter)

bought for a htpc, put in a low in 939 Athalon. Worksgreat. Havn't tried overclocking yet. have a new vid card on order but the onboard vid is very fast. Rock solid board.

Good motherboard for a budget HTPC

Strengths: very stable. 3 pci slots. stays at good temps. pretty darn good for a micro-atx. Video built-in.

Weakness: For gamers, you will need a video card for the PCI-16x slot.

Board is not SLI ready. Some might want this. I used this for my first home theatre pc build. I am not a gamer and wanted the flexibility to update video later if needed. The video on board was fine for my needs.

Cheap nice board

Strengths: cheap, rock solid and overclocking features

Weakness: no manual was provided. had to update bios before getting things right

Bought this board from newegg. I was able to overclock an AMD Athlon 64 3700+ San Diego core to 2.53GHz prime95 stable very easily. I had to update the bios though before I could get everything working right. The drivers on the CD weren't working right either. But the ones downloaded from nvidia and amd websites work perfectly. It would've been nice if it had a DVI output on the board. The...

decent mobo

Strengths: nice all-round mobo for everyday purposes

Weakness: lack of hardcopy owner's manual

Installing this mobo is quite unevenful especially if you are installing new OS on newly formatted hard disk. I opted to let Windows XP install the drivers first if possible and load the ones it failed from the included mobo CD. Have not try overclocking on this, the included utilities like ntune and superutility, either did not install correctly or just not functioning correctly. System frozen...
