Fast little processorStrengths: Runs really cool in comparison to other peoples 3.4Ghz processors. Weakness: Stock fan is just basic! Was a great move up for me from a 500Mhz PIII to this 3.2Ghz. Was easy to install myself and booted up immediately. Would recommend this processor over the more expensive 3.4 model.

Pentium 4 640 w/ HT Technology - 3.2GHz ProcessorStrengths: Very Fast and easily overclocked Weakness: None that i have found I installed this processor easily. I was very impressed with its performance. I was able to overclock it to 4.0ghz with the stock heatsink and fan. If i had to make the decision again on which processor to buy, i would buy this one. It has the best performance to price ratio.

Intel Pentium 4 640 ProcessorStrengths: Words that describe my fist impression: Fast, Quick, Speed, GO-Go, Go-Go, Go Weakness: Price is a little bit high. Requires other componets to run at full potential, which means that even more money may be required to achive your goal. If you want speed make sure you try one of these. Along with the right motherboard, memory, etc. you will not be sorry. I would recommend this CPU to anyone who desires a fast stable CPU and has the wallet to afford it. I ran a test with my old Dell 2.7GHz and my new 3.2GHz computer. I copied some DVD's. I used the same disc and started at the same time. The 3.2GHz was burning two disc to every...

LGA 775Strengths: Runs great! Super fast. Weakness: Haven't found yet. This P4 runs cool and fast with the stock heatsink and fan. Those of you who are complaining about the stock heatsink/fan, make sure that your heatsink is lock in firmly. The instructions said to push down and than turn counter clockwise or something, don't listen to that. Turn all the pins in locking position first, so all you have to do is push down. Make sure everything is in place, then push...

The best value in Intel's best line of chipsStrengths: Fast, reliable, runs cool with included heat sync. Weakness: Stock fan can be a bit noisy at full speed, more expensive than comparable AMD chips. Intel's 600 line of CPUs is their best in a long time, and represents the latest desktop technology. The more expensive 800 "D" series is actually two older chips merged together - and parallel processing won't see gaming performance benefits for years. The 640 is the cheapest of this CPU line to have a whole number multiplier which, depending on your configuration, can result in lower latency...

Intel Pentium 4 640 ProcessorStrengths: sheer speed Weakness: A little pricey This is the best Intel processor in my opinion, i've owned so far. It runs super cool (36c-42c), even though I have it clocked to 3.847ghz with a FSB of 960mhz. I have it installed in an Asus board (P5AD2-E-premium) with a 3 drive Rapitor raid "O", along with some less expensive memory installed and some PC5400 (matched pair) due tomorrow. With this machine "buckle up"

Intel Pentium 4 640 ProcessorStrengths: Very fast and reliable. Well supported by all major commercial operating systems. The CPU is now a flat ste of contacts flush on the bottom of the package which eliminates the possibility of damage. Weakness: still stuck at the 800MHz FSB Intel CPUs and Chipsets are stable, fast and reliable. The LGA 775 form factor has shifted the pins which used to be on the CPU to the motherboard. The CPU fan requires substantial pressure to be properly installed.

what a great processorStrengths: fast, 2M L2, Weakness: runs a little hot, but can be forgiven. I bought this a couple of weeks ago. Thanks to Newegg, it got to me within a few days. This is one fast, I mean, fast processor. From pressing the power on switch on the computer to getting to booting and up and running the windows, it does not take more than 30 seconds. What a difference from my old AMD Athlon 1500. programs open whin less an a blink of eye. I have to mention that it runs a...

Solid stuff as usual, and with recent Intel price...Strengths: LGA 775 Platform Base. Native PCI Express Vid support. Hyper Threading. Small. Excellent stock fan, making OEMs not worth it. Weakness: Poor instructions on the new heatsink/fan installation. Google for better guides. Basically, this is the chip that is the exception to the AMD price/performance equation. All the perks of an Intel, for the price of AMD, AND more power for the dollar than the Socket478 AGPs. LGA 775 Platform Base saves money. And is so small it allows for better cooling solutions. Remember the kids back in the day with dual CPUs? Hyperthreading beats that. Quality fan and 3 year warranty make... Advertisement

Very Nice chip, I know this is a little dated but...
Strengths: Very Fast, Very Reliable and Very Stable
Weakness: None that I have found yet
I bought this chip in a combo set to a ECS 945P-A ver1.1 from Fry's for about 239.99. I thought that was a cheap price. Get this ECS mobo, worked first time installed :D. I don't do much over clocking but I bought PQI Memory DDR2 667mhz 1gig Dual Channel. I'm able to run F.E.A.R., Quake 4 very nicely and when playing Joint Operations: Escalation (OH MAN! what a major improvement), OH I also...
