Vertex Plus 60 GB

Strengths: Inexpensive, faster than HDD, big improvement for an older laptop

Weakness: Initial Firmware corrupted the drive almost immediately.

Installed the drive in an older MacBook and it really breathed new life into the old guy. But only two days later, the drive went corrupt and eventually had to be re-partitioned. It turns out the firmware that shipped with the drive (3.50) has a known incompatibility with Intel chipsets in many lower end laptops. After contacting tech support, I was instructed to upgrade to version 3.55 and...
